Yes — you can book a single lesson before committing to a term.

You’re welcome to start with a single trial lesson. After that, I offer lessons in term blocks, following the Australian public school term dates.

Piano lessons run in parallel with the Australian public school terms — typically four terms per year, each around 9–11 weeks long. Lessons pause during school holidays unless otherwise arranged.

My standard piano lessons are 30 minutes long.

Progress varies, but most beginners can play simple pieces within weeks and feel confident within a few months. Students are typically ready to take exams within 18 months of learning. Each grade takes 12 months to learn.

Short, regular practice sessions work best, especially for beginners. Just 10–20 minutes a day is a great start, and practice time increases gradually as students move up through the exam grades. I encourage families to set up a consistent routine, aiming for at least four practice sessions each week. Children thrive on structure, and practising at the same time each day makes a big difference. Morning practice before school can work particularly well, leaving afternoons free for sports, homework, and other activities.
